Royal Portrush Golf Club

Visitors 2008

(From 1st January — 31st December 2008)

Royal Portrush Golf Club (established 1888) being a private Club, has only limited availability for visitors on the Dunluce and Valley Links and we would appreciate that the following conditions of play are observed.

The Rules of Golf, as laid down by the Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews shall govern play on the links, and the strict observance of the "Etiquette of Golf" is essential.

Tee Reservation:
Can be booked in advance by telephone, subject to written confirmation and receipt of a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per person. All visitors are expected to be members of a recognised Golf Club and to hold a bona fide current playing Handicap. A Certificate of Handicap with a maximum of 18 for males (24 for females) on the Dunluce Links, must be presented along with a letter of introduction from Home Club and are conditional prior to play.

Slow Play:
is not acceptable and players taking excessive time will be warned or asked to leave the links. Players are asked to give way, if they are holding up the match.

Visitors must play from markers specified by the Starter and commence from 1st Tee only.

Booking Fees:
Are required to be paid, in full, two months in advance and are non-refundable, except on the occasion when the Links are closed. Non payment by the specified date will result in automatic cancellation of reservation.

All visitors are required to check in with the Starter and Club Shop, prior to play.

Caddies:
It is best advised by telephone in advance, should you require caddies, although no guarantee can be given as to availability.

The recommended rate for:

Caddies: £30.00 per round
Bag Carriers: £20.00 per round
(excluding gratuity)

Official Club Caddies will be recognised by the wearing of a bib. Visitors requiring guidance regarding payment of caddies, please contact the Secretary/Manager’s Office.

Dress: (Gents and Ladies)

On the Links: smart attire is essential
Golf Shoes MUST be worn and Bermuda-type shorts may be worn, together with knee-length or short socks,

On the Links and in the Clubhouse: tee-shirts, i.e singlets or sleeveless shirts, training shoes, shorts, ie tennis shorts, or sporting models, any form of track suit, or denims are NOT permitted. Trouser Legs must not be tucked into socks. Golf shoes, of any description, are NOT permitted in the Clubhouse. Bermuda-type shorts are NOT permitted in the Clubhouse. Long trousers MUST be worn in the Clubhouse.

Mobile Phones:
are NOT permitted on the Links or in the Clubhouse at any time.

There is a TOTAL BAN on SMOKING within the Clubhouse building.

Catering:
Dining Room is open 7 days a week from April to September, and operates a snack menu, with reduced hours, between October and March. Persons wishing to order a full meal, or have special requirements, must confirm with the Catering Department, one week in advance.

Tea, coffee and sandwiches are available in the Dunluce Room.

Professional:
The Shop is well stocked and can arrange hire of clubs and tuition. Visa, MasterCard and Amex Credit Cards are accepted.

Trolley Rental: £4.00 per round;
Club Hire: from £25.00 - £35.00 per round;
Battery Caddy Cars: Limited in Number: £10.00 per round.
No self-drive golf carts are available.

Clubhouse and Car Park:
Articles of value should not be left in Locker Room, as Club cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.

Royal Portrush Golf Club will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to vehicles parked in the car park.

Green Staff take every care in preparing the links for your enjoyment.

Please assist by:

- Repairing Pitch Marks
- Replacing Divots
- Smoothing over footprints in bunkers

The Club reserves the right to amend or rescind any or all of these conditions at any time. Notice will be given wherever possible.
