This print is from an original painting by Ulster artist Gary Devon. Gary studied at Goldsmiths College, London. After his degree he undertook a number of commissions, most notably one from HRH The Prince of Wales to paint Kensington Palace. He also painted “house portraits” for actress Diana Rigg and BBC golf commentator Peter Alliss.
Upon his return home he received an unusual and large scale public commission in the form of a 200 square foot mural painted directly onto a rough, stone interior wall in Bangor’s North Down Museum. It depicts the flora and fauna of the National Trust stretch of coastline at Ballymacormick Point.
He also has had several solo and joint exhibitions in Belfast, Dublin and Derry. His paintings have been purchased by the OPW in Dublin and by TV presenter Eamon Holmes. He has exhibited in the Royal Hibernian Academy annual show and as a member of Royal Ulster Academy of Arts he exhibits in its annual exhibition in which he has won both the Conor Prize for figurative work and more recently the prize for Landscape.
